The Education Committee of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York has been organized to provide the members of the Association with information about current substantive and procedural developments in the various aspects of education law, including but not limited to special education, student rights and student discipline, residency requirements, immunization rules and regulations, discrimination, and other important school law issues. These issues relating to students and their education have not only been generally more newsworthy in the last several years, but also are of great interest to many members both in their personal lives and as lawyers.

In conjunction with the CLE Committee, the Education Committee has sponsored and expects to continue to sponsor statewide CLE programs on these subjects as well as to comment on proposed legislation in these areas when called upon to do so. The Chairs of this Committee hold meetings as needed throughout the year and make available to the Board of Directors of WBASNY both oral and written reports on its activities.
