The Employment and Labor Law Committee of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York is a substantive committee that is intended to educate members about current developments in this varied area of the law, particularly as these affect women. Labor and employment law affect almost every working American. They include such varied aspects as protections from discrimination in terms and conditions of employment; occupational safety and health protections; pensions and benefits; labor/management relations; reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities and family-friendly statutes such as the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.

The Committee also works closely with the Legislative Committee to enable it to comment on proposed legislation in the area of labor and employment law.
